hello, i need some criticisms.. i just finished this track called my pink mack 10, however i cant listen to it on any decent speakers except my monitors... i wanna know if this was mastered well from other ppls perspectives as well as some criticimns..

The masterings not good, everything pumped up way too high, no dynamics in the mix, you need to get the mix so the instruments all sound good before limiting, and then add a little boost of about 3db.

Having said that, I thought it sounded really good what I could make out of it, so post up the finished version when you're done.

haha cheers for the advice mate, i guess i was going for phil spector's wall of sound feel, but yeh mastering in reason is kind of tricky still...

Still a good tune though, not a mastering master myself to be honest. Like the Phil Spector idea though - wall of sound good. Still amazes me that loads of those old 60's tunes were done in one take.

When we're all sitting around with our pc studios it's quite humbling to think that Sgt Peppers was done on a four track tape desk, and some of those motown sessions had a full rhythm section, singers and an orchestra in the studio.

We've got it so easy now, relatively speaking.
