Had the same problem, just get the update for it from ni, or if its a "not baught" copy you could always find a more recent "not baught" copy

I was having the same troubles, but after a bit of searching, I found a solution. There's a file called NIMassiveDataBase inside the following directory. I removed this file from the directory (just to be safe in case I lost any custom presets/whatnot) and started up FL and loaded Massive with no problems. NIMassiveDataBase can actually just be deleted without any effect on presets or Massive itself.

C:\Documents and Settings\*****\Local Settings\Application Data\Native Instruments\Massive

Hope this solves your problem!

Sytrus synth built into FL Studio is absolutely sick... I'd get to work learning that, because the sounds it's capable of chucking out are phenomenal!!!

Google Sytrus Synth tutorials if you need help learning how it works, and read the ****ing help file..! (So many people don't, and it actually helps!!)

Z3ta+ by Cakewalk is capable of doing sick things... and it has a killer set of filters in my opinion... :)

Albino 3 is good along with the rest of Rob Papens synths..

Check out this list of links compiled by sapphic_beats to find plenty of free synths.

some places for you to start!!! have fun! but remember, just pick the ones you really want to dig into, because the more vsts you have, the more time it takes your sequencer to load. happy funtime!
Ps. I was pleasantly surprised when I checked out that list. I stumbled across a new synth which I now really enjoy using (Sinthecyza)... Get hunting! :)
