Tech Itch dubstep?

Post by auralassassin » Mon Jun 05, 2006 7:23 pm

Not really feeling it. Sounds to me like a drum n bass producer was listening to some dubstep and thought he could half-ass his way through a production. Mediocre at best, IMO.

The flip off of that record is pretty decent though, but even still is only decent at best. I got my hopes up way too high for something smashing and it just turned out to be nothing special. No bueno. What I'm really wondering, is why everyone is playing it... perhaps I'm just an idiot, but I don't get the appeal.

That Headhunter tune is big !

I bought it, and I have no regrets

I was expecting more from the Tech Itch side but to me it definitely doesn't sound like that kind of dubstep that doesn't want to be dubstep and secretly wishes it was dnb

It's a good , solid release imo

why is it that if it doesnt sound like every other tune thats made its not dubstep

the tech itch tune is good man!!! so i the headhunter trak, but tech itch is just bein more diverse

if every tune sounds the same music will get boring very quickly, open ur minds this is meant to be the music of no rules after all

as loefah said on that bbc doc 'dubstep has no formula, thats wots so good bout it' wel the way some peeps are goin on wit there comments, scene wil be very formulated soon, which wil be a shame!!!

sorry for the ramble, big up tech and headhunter, ur both large!!!!!!

It's not that it doesn't sound like every other track(which it doesn't) it's that I think it's a shit track, man. Headhunter's track is pretty good, but the Tech Itch tune is worthless, imo.

The only saving grace is the bit of acid involved, and even that is repetitious. No bueno. I didn't really like any of Tech Itch's drum n bass, either... but I just expected better quality than this. It sounds like some crap I made in acid pro back in the mid nineties.

it's not great. it's definitely not bad though. the acid stabs are a nice experiment that i feel could be taken further. tech itch has just never had the kinda swing i like.

People are giving it shit because he's a dnb producer though, right?

It didn't make a huge impression on me, the flip is heavy. Definitely wasn't what I expected, thought he'd incorporate some amens etc...

the komonazmuk / white boy tune "shank step" that's gonna be on an upcoming Ascension release is large.
