i just watched it, and saw he was using logic...(logic (mac version) i think is great for 'work flow')...then i realised he's using windows (i.e. that version is really old version of logic) but i think this is a good thing...

...probably stop people from thinking they need the latest and greatest in software.

cheers for the upload btw.

if it aint broke dont fix it. Me myself, i have nearly locked FL 8, as every version was an education in itself, and as time progressed, i learnt more. Recently being getting locked down on tunes, but no i've clocked FL8, Benga only uses them programs cuz he knows how to use them, has certain skills he knows well with. I myslef, know he can use eveything he does between the 2 programs in Fruity Loops 8, only cuz i've messed, and learnt the skills i know thru it. Big props for Benga showing his skills, i wouldn't.....

what, now out of date software is cool cos a name uses it?

i really wouldnt fuss over what DAW benga or anyone else is using. its totally irrelevant and seriously clutching at straws: either u got talent and know yr tools or not. using "retro" software aint gonna give u any adavantages. use one program (new, old, home made, just as long as u like it), and use it well. thats all.

what next? ppl gonna rush out and buy the same wallpaper as plastician got in his bedroom in the hope it rubs off on em?

easy mr opinionated, no worries for me uploading it's fine!

i actually got hold of the same version hmm let me see coz i dont have a mac and those tossers thought it'd be funny to not make PC versions anymore. When i hear a 'name' uses the same software as me (fruity loops) it cheers me up because of the amount of shit fruity users get for using it. Shit man i downloaded the same version of logic as benga, i must be a noob!

using old software is a good thing for lots of reasons :
  • -if is it old you'll probably have spend more time on it so you know it better
    -you understand the workflow
-it takes less cpu ressource so you could have larger project
-you don't mess with lots of features you don't use
basically i use renoise because it's cheap but it does well everything it should do (sequencing and using sample)

i only said i was interested, beacuse i thought as it is older it would be cheaper(i have absolutly no money), not beacuse benga uses it, and ive only just started producing, and havent decided on a DAW yet.

for the record, on the subject of old software i still use fruityloops 3.5 for the majority of my productions. A lot of them i don't even use vst's.
Plastician can now be heard LIVE on Rinse FM every Sunday 9pm til 11pm

Taking a lot of the flak, and a little of the plaudits is part of what I'm all about.....

If you want a CHEAP and LIGHT software, get Reaper (http://www.reaper.fm/, 50$) or Renoise (http://www.renoise.com/, 50€) instead. I wouldn't want to work with a software thats not supported anymore.

As I said earlier in another thread, I know people who drop shit on Rephlex or adnoiseam and they use FL 3.4 for that. The most important rule is to know your weapons.
The only thing which is really important and where you should spend money on, imho, is the monitoring situation.
