Broken Note is a sick mofo. Hard to get close to such loudness.

Anyway, as Legendary says you can hear 1 kick hitting the low-mids frequencies & 1 808 like kick for the bottom end. Both probably compressed to fuckery.
Then that's bassline that makes the whole thing sound so fat.

Aren't they a team or two dudes??

But yeah, those cats are really sick. I would imagine that they spent a bit of time playing around with their sound to get it to where it is now. You should probably do the same.

seriously this is easy. its maybe two or three different kicks (high-mid upwards) and under that they have layered their sub. the filtering is minimal methinks (apart from probably the sub which will probably be simply lp'd).

but seriously, what are you going to do when you find 'that' kick? only use that? i would suggest just making music that you like sound as good as you can...if you want a heavy kick think to your self what makes it heavy? well number one it wubs at low freq's so it probably has an artificial sub under it. the sub only strikes low freq's so its probably had high freq's removed artificially. also it punches a lot. well what makes punch? well amongsts other things a strong mid with a crisp high (in addition to the dense low end) how do you get this? well you could start with just a nice sample and layer it with itself with various frequency 'additions' untill you find something that has clarity while still seeming large.

put another way....when you walk to the shop you dont just get what you want, you get better at making the decision to get what you want. you also get better at walking lest we forget.

we are learning life lessons here people, there is no such thing as 'just a kick'. there is only the kick situated in a life, and if you want it, you will either have to get it or be given it. the more you work out how to get it, the bettter you will get at getting things.

so next time if it's some ill snare you want you can say to your self, "well i learned how to generally make things punch when i made that kick so ill start with that..."

Layering with synth kicks and compressing is a very gd way of getting a punchy kick
