Congratulations to all involved, mary and timeout for standing behind the sound for years now. This is such an important side thats not covered nearly as much.

big up ladies. youd all be proud if you could see the front row at the shows in LA lately. something about the bass pulls estrogen.

‘Grime and drum ’n’ bass raves tend to be quite aggy. People in dubstep clubs tend to have a more meditative approach, which is inviting to females. You see the female-to-male ratio constantly going up – it’s got the potential to be 40:60.’
spot on. big article.
nice to see a lot of girls take a shine to the sound in recent years, really showing its growth and diversity.
nothing better then seeing a row of sexy girls brockin out at the front of the rave with the boys
big up all the dubstep girlys. your time.

I think its more difficult to imagine women spending hours and hours sat at a computer tweaking around with synths etc. than men. I know that's a sexist view, but I think there are generally more male geeks hence more male producers/DJs.
It's definitely good that dubstep involves so many women and that dancefloors aren't sausage fests- although that balance depends on the night really. I remember the mixture (gender and otherwise) at the first DMZs I went to was really encouraging.
Hopefully also (to be ever so slightly massively sexist again) if women stay involved it won't all slide into a pit of sweaty armpit wobble hell.
