Featuring:
DJ DISTANCE - Planet Mu / Chestplate - UK

"Within Dubstep, few people bar Distance and Coki, have had such consistent dancefloor destruction capabilities,..." - Martin Clark, This Month in Dubstep, pitchfork
Hailing from the south of London--just a hop away from Dubstep's quaking epicenter of Croydon--Dj distance, aka Greg Sanders, has developed a reputation for his heavy and dancefloor-friendly Dubstep. the hard edge to Sander's music is not surprising: coming from a background in metal, he caught the Drum n Bass, and later UK Garage virus which in turn led to his early Breakstep recordings. in 2004, the noted Hotflush label put forth it's second release "Nomad" by Dj distance and it was clear Sanders was onto something big. as the Dubstep scene expanded worldwide, Sanders continued to put forth a string of red hot singles on the Hotflush, Tectonic and Ringo labels that, more importantly, found a home on the best selling Dubstep Allstars, Warrior Dubz, Tectonic Plates and (Coki's) Fabriclive compilations. 2007 saw the culmination of Sander's production work with one of the genre's finest LPs, "my demons" on Mu-Ziq's Planet Mu imprint and the founding of his own Chestplate recordings. as a Dj, sanders regularly plays at London's top clubs (Fabric, FWD) and across Europe, so be prepared for a crate of Dubplates on a sound system that Baltimore's Joe Nice says "is every bit as good as fabric."

DJ SHIVA - Subterror / Dubkraft / ShutDown Audio - Indianapolis, IN

For 13 years, Indianapolis Techno mainstay DJ Shiva has brought a multitude of Techno flavors to dancefloors nationwide. From Electro to minimal, Chicago Jack to Detroit soul, the deepest to the hardest Techno, her attention deficit disorder requires variety in both music and technique. With her foray into the realm of Dubstep, the same rules (or lack of them) apply. From straight up chest rattling bangers to skeletonized exercises in minimal dub to bits and pieces of Electro and Techno, it's all in the mix. Utilizing over a decade of experience on the ones and twos, combined with the flexibility and creative possiblities of Ableton Live to re-edit, loop on the fly and add effects and beats, Shiva brings a fresh approach to the Dubstep palette. From her upcoming vinyl release on Dubkraft (w/ production partner Alien Pimp), to her radio show on Dubstep.fm, Shiva is determined not only to spread the eclectic sounds of Dubstep and Techno to new audiences, but to quite possibly live in a Subwoofer someday.

KARL MEIER - Interrupt Media - Chicago
Veteran Chicago Dj Karl Meier needs little introduction. Meier has played alongside Techno stalwarts Surgeon, The Advent and Kevin Saunderson, to name a few, and his knowledge of the genre is matched by few in the city. Meier's set preceding Joe Nice in June was so dope, we had to have him back again.
PHADED - KJ Chicago, Dubfix, Dubstep.fm - Chicago
Phaded began his affair with the beat in the late 90's, doing production and later Dj'ing a blend of Underground Hiphop, Downtempo and Dub tracks. Inspired by the musical brilliance of producers and artists spanning a vast number of genres, there was a constant compulsion to present some of the most Underground of sounds and Rhythms in his sets. becoming part of the emerging Dubstep scene in the US was only a natural progression for Phaded, as it tapped into the many facets of his musical foundation. over the last year there has been great success for his weekly broadcast-- The Dented Sessions on Dubstep.fm--as well as dropping crowd-pleasing performances around the Midwest US. 2008 only looks brighter for this sub junkie, with an eye toward lending more his own productions to the scene in upcoming months. Be ready for some bass weight with Phaded when you enter the building.

QUADRATIC Live - La Folia, Abstract Science - Chicago
Quadratic is a Collaboration of Seasoned Dj Chris Widman and developer Colin Harris of Abstract Science—Chicago. Widman and Harris craft dancefloor oddities and headphone bangers that draw influence from Luke Vibert, Monolake, Orbital, Si Begg and Deadbeat, among many others.
Chris Widman is best known as a DJ and host of the Chicago weekly radio show Abstract Science on WLUW 88.7fm. Over the years, he has shared the bill with a diverse cast underground luminaries—Amon Tobin, Cinematic Orchestra, Jaga Jazzist, M83, Meat Beat Manifesto, Monolake, Plaid, The Orb, UNKLE and Ulrich Schnauss, to name a few—and has Dj'd every type of event imaginable, from Raves to Operas. Colin Harris is best known as a web application developer and agile programmer who spent many hours of his youth tweaking lines of code, playing with music trackers (and guitars), and pumping hours of Bassdrive out of his computer subwoofer. graduating from a Casio sk5 to Fruity Loops to Ableton Live and a rack-full of toys has opened worlds of possibilities for Colin's active imagination.
Widman and Harris first met in 1998, at Widman's pure lounge club residency in Columbia, Missouri. Widman first encouraged, then invaded, Harris' music projects. The result is Quadratic.
Their debut release on La Folia Recordings, The Rotten Fruit EP, is available via Halcyondigi.com, Juno downloads, Amazon.com and other fine online retailers.[/img]
