for side chaining: is it better to duck the kick under the baseline, or vice versa?

yo, it seems so obvious when you put it that way... cheers man!
edit, but then how do you get the kik to sound consistent... as your ducking volume moves back and forth along with the baseline, the kicks dont always hit at the same position along the sliding axis of the volume control... so the kick sounds louder and lower all the time??
is this boil down to settings on the sidechainer or something?

this is weird. i got my base line ducking behind my kick. technically, this is wrong? but it sounds better to me ?!?!

edit : did you get melopdy sample from some old skool amiga game music? cos it sound to me like "Titus The Fox" ingame music :) Maybe that's the reason why I like it so ;]
