Any under 18 gigs?

Post by nednarm » Wed Aug 13, 2008 7:43 pm

Alright, just wondering if there are many under 18 gigs going on soon?
I was just looking at the Rinse 14th birthday and the gig at concorde2 gig this friday with benga; both look sick but both are strictly over 18!

I guess the only way I could get in to these is if I have a fake I.D :(
It's pretty annoying cos im 17.

owell, if anyone has any info let me know :)

P.S sorry if this is in the wrong section, I didn't think it would go in any other section so this one looked best. If it's wrong tell me and ill move it

Thanks.

I'm 15 and in America, where the age is usually 21.

It's extremely frustrating.

I don't think I've ever been to a gig where you had to be 18+. And I've been going to dnb gigs since I was 15-16 years old.

I reckon there will be an u-18s event with dubstep on the bill in london before the end of the yr.

This annoys me too. Not so much a problem for me because I can pass for 18 easily, not being long off actually turning 18. But the only mates who are into dubstep who'd go with me make less convincing eighteen year olds, so even when I turn 18 I'll still have problems.

not trying to sound too parental, but i've experienced what goes on in a lot of raves, and if you were my kid, i wouldn't want you there either. kids usually find ways to do what they want though. if your parents are cool with it maybe you should have them take you to one.
otherwise, your day will come.

on a nappy night? it might be true but you can't have em wrapped in cotton wool. i work with teenagers who are moving out of care on to independency, (normally The Rude-Boy-Think-They're-An-MC-Will-Steal-Anything-type of lad) who love dubstep and grime (i'm often giving em mixes from here) and the under 18's gigs/clubs are a really good way of them being able to go out without being at risk from the crap you get at adult gigs which they only try to go to anyway. (you might see this as naive aswell, but you've gotta trust em o some degree ;-).

Anyway, alot of them love grime and dubstep, they don't get to go to any of the gigs, just the cheesy nappy nights put on by fat business men on very rare occasions.
