They're classified as dubstep producers here: http://www.discogs.com/release/1091698
and here: http://www.discogs.com/release/1270547
and here: http://www.boomkat.com/search.cfm?q=various+production.

They're classified as dubstep producers by The Guardian, by Stylus magazine, and - hey - even by themselves on their Myspace blog.

They're just not very good ones, is all.

well they're not regardless

they have used it in their sound but then they have folk songs & even hip-hop

i think surgeon probably knows more than you given his contributions to the scene..

I think they're fantastic...maybe a bit subtle for you?

Nah, just a bit poncy for me, a bit fly-by-night, a bit "will-this-do?", a bit gosh-aren't-we-SO-London, a bit look-at-our-famous-friends, a bit we-can-remix-Sugababes-but-still-keep-it-real-and-you-can't-ner-ner-ner-ner-ner. And considering both of our signature pics, I don't think either of us can lecture the other about subtlety, do you?

More and more I have to say Caspa and Rusko.

Snes Dub, Action Dread and the like were some of the first dubstep songs I'd heard that got me into the genre, but I really am not a huge fan of some of the new stuff. Louder is one of the sickest tunes ever, but the really recent stuff just seems to have one basic loud and fast riff with absolutely no changes in each bar.

I think Slipknot are really over-rated as dubstep producers.

I wanna hear the thread starters tunes tbh.

I bet they're insanely sick considering he feels he can slander producers

Not liking a producers style is one thing but calling someone overrated, thats quite a bold insult.
If people were not worthy of their popularity and releases they obviously wouldn't have it/them.
They're obviously people who like what they do otherwise you wouldn't of 'eard of them.
Why try and start beef on a moderately nice forum? I mean people have a rant and rave but theres levels.

No ones over-rated in Dubstep I think tbh...Its not a massively huge scene so obviously there is a market and a crowd to suit the producer(s).

'nuff under rated people though.

^I find your first 2 lines of text be be a pretty childish comment.

I agree with you other statements though, but in a way one person calling something overrated is a way of saying they don't like their style.

In my post i was merely saying I'm not a fan of Caspa and Rusko's newer tunes. I think they have done a lot of good things to get to where they are today, but I just don't like what they are producing now. I have to say they both do a god job of making an otherwise annoying sound somewhat enjoyable.

Time will tell on Various Production. Didn't mean to piss in anybody's popcorn, though. If VP's aunties and uncles are present, I'm very sorry and won't express dissatisfaction with anything, anywhere, ever again. I'm now off to say fourteen thousand Hail Marys in the river Jordan, and then see if Max Von Sydow's free to conduct an exorcism. Failing that, David Blaine. Or Sooty.
