He's a mental full-stop. Read the bit about him in the Jon Ronson book "Them", seems to cover most of the bases of various wacky conspiracy theories from Islamic fundamentalists to White Supremacists, to the prison planet dickwit whatever his name is.

Like a lot of these theorists, there's a basis of fact in certain elements of his writing, which he then adds unsubstantiated rumour from unreliable sources to and then continues to add bollocks until he ends up with "facts" based on nothing more than paranoid gossip. With lizards for fucks sake! LIZARDS!!! Remember him talking about this ancient lizard bloodline, and thinking "fuck me, that's more or less the same story as Holy Blood, Holy Grail" and that was exposed as a scam that wasn't thoroughly investigated either.

Somewhere between being a goalie and godhead, I think he dropped far too much acid whilst watching X-Files on continuous rewind - either that or he's cynically making a lot of money off gullible X-files/Buffy fiends.

Jon Ronson's book seemed to draw the conclusion that where there's no explanation for the horrors of the world, people will grasp at anything to explain it - it generally makes more sense to follow resources/money/power as that'll generally be a far more rational explanation of what goes on.
Hmm....

Jon Ronson has the worst most annoying journalistic Julie Burchill style, student scumbag voice in TV history though, so I'm not sure I'll be joining his fanclub anytime soon. But he is the spiritual father of that Loefah track though so i guess he's probalby made more of a contribution than David icke

Jon Ronson, can be a really good journalist (although I agree that his voice is pretty annoying), as can be witnessed by the Men who stare at Goats and the book I mentioned. As a jewish geezer (and quite a puny one at that), I did think it took cojones of steel to go speak to the KKK, neo-sizan and extreme islamists, none of which are chummy with the semites as far as I know, so don't judge a book by it's cover.

Julie Burchill also has done some amazingly good work when she's not trying to provide controversy for dinner parties - the documentary she did about asbestosis (which killed her father) a few years back was really thoughtful and well-researched, and covered huge amounts of bullshit by the companies covering up their responsibility to the dying workers - if I remember rightly, most compensation (conveniently for the companies)came after most of them had died of asbestos poisoning/lung failure.

Admittedly both have had their fair share of pointless, bollocky little articles printed that bear no light or interest on anything much, but it doesn't mean they'll not do good in the future.
Hmm....

i gotta agree with shonky. he self-references books from his own publishing company far too much. interesting stuff, but not to much in the way of substantiation there... "children of the matrix" was a fascinating read, but when an author uses their own books as resource material, you feel like you the reader are being led around in circles.

I think Icke's not bad in his leanings, but there's more than enough ammo against corporations, governments, etc without having to look for evidence of secret societies - Jon Ronson also looked into Bilderburg and the Skull and Bones group and his conclusions on the former were that of course a meeting of the richest and most powerful people in the world is going to be carried out in secret due to it's nature (hardly going to televise it are they ffs?) and that in the latter, it just seemed like some frat boy bullshit for upper middle-class adults
