Yes definitley if it was fairly priced. perhaps you could also consider doing package deals or something, where people can send you 3 or 6 mp3's at once and have them all done.
also i imagine that the waiting time would be an issue too. if the demand was high for this service would transition have enough staff to meet demand?
either way, i'd be very interested in something like this.

Great idea!
I've been meaning to ask about online mastering services for a while! Don't think it would need to be mp3 though, surely if we sent you the wav files you could master them and send them back? Heard a few companies doing it like this.

I'd definately try it once at least out of curiousity. Maybe not the answer you'd want but i'm being honest. I think I'd end up regreting not having you master the wav (which could lead to me becoming a regular customer, hmm). Would it be a format sensitive master? i.e. some sort of special attention paid to the high frequencies?

you'd probably get more mp3s a week than you could handle once word spreads though.
could we get a .wav back?
id think about it for future digital releases but youd need a wav for that.
if the price is right of course.

May as well address this directly eh - most likely to have been that thread about my service (exactly this sort of thing). I didnt mean to tread on your toes or anything like that man, I hope that's clear! Nothing but respect from over hereJtransition wrote:Somthing that someone posted on this forum got me thinking so lets see a show of hands.

Just don't do it too cheap...

As I understand it, we're talking about running stuff through the nice analogue signal chain to get some of the 'dubplate sound' on it, aren't we?
Rather than a full on 'spend ages tweaking EQs and limiters' type mastering service - wasn't the original discussion about the fact that mp3 mastering seems to be more expensive than dubplate cutting at Transition, because mp3 mastering is the full mastering experience whereas dub cutting isn't?
Or am I confused?
