Audio recording sofware for Mac?

Post by mudda » Thu Jul 13, 2006 6:22 pm

I want to to be able to record whatever's passing through my soundcard, for sampling CDs and DVDs.

Can't really find anything online and can't work out how to record directly into Logic Express.

Any ideas?

iTunes for ripping CD's, maybe Audio Hijack for DVD's?
Try Audacity for a shareware wave editor.

Got Audacity a while back. Importing MP3 files from iTunes brings up a waveform that just sounds like a high pitched squeak when played back. Dunno where I'm going wrong on that one.

personally i think audacity is great, always whip it out for simple editing procedures and it takes 1 second to load and uses up minimal processor

+1 Audio Hijack, super easy to use, it can grab the audio from any application, and it singles out the application so you don't have to worry about other noises popping in there.
