FORTIFIED 2ND BDAY MAGNETIC MAN(SKREAM,BENGA,ARTWORK) 17/10

Post by electric eliminator » Thu Sep 04, 2008 4:53 pm

Hard to believe its been 24 months since we started doing Fortified in blackfriars basement. After several shifts in various venues we finally settled in the art school, where we will be celebrating our birthday in style with a welcome return of two of our most popular guests, playing live in Scotland for the first time together as magnetic man. You know this is not to be missed, so grab an advanced ticket from next week from the usual vendors.

I've never actually been upstairs for a club night, all i know is whenever it's been in vic's, the atmosphere is amazing. any chance of getting the dj booth back at the other side? just when shackleton/appleblim played last month the booth was up on the raised platform bit. Not like im that fussed! it just seemed really strange, not used to it!

Ok folks, its gonna be help upstairs now, due to the lighting rig/pixel wall thing for magnetic man being too big for the vic. This means that we will be bringing in extra sound, in the shape of the Bass Warrior System, which beefs up the sound to close to 30k. Ulp!!!

Yas, this is going to belteriffic. Would have been too stowed in the Vic, probably even a bit full upstairs as well hopefully. Looking forward!

I don't know much about sound systems, but I'm assuming that's big... What's Jerome's Bass Alliance, or Mungos? Mungos is the biggest I've heard I think, it was beastin...

I think, but don't quote me, that Mungo's is less than 20. So 30 should be hefty. Although obviously large area with high ceilings to cover upstairs.

Funny to think about Skream playing Home Studios to 50 people or so just over 2 years ago and now he'll be be part of a show in a most likely pretty stowed upstairs in the art school.

I actually thought that was the worst I'd ever heard Skream play :) Different strokes for different folks!
