Apple Pips

Post by duderonomy » Fri Sep 19, 2008 10:09 am

I really like both of these releases. Martyn's "Suburbia" is a nice track somewhere between D'n'B, Garage & Techno, with a deep vibe to it, and very similar to the Beat Pharmacy remix of "Over Here" (is the sample from Predator, when Mack is going a bit crazy hiding in the bush stalking the Predator? "I can see you" b/w "I'm gonna have me some fun tonight, I'm gonna have me some fun tonight").

My only complaint is... I wish they'd been released on Skull Disco, as the artwork for those releases is wicked. Who does 'em? APPLEBLIM - get him on the case for Pips #3!

I love the ApplePips sleeves - they remind me of something Factory Records would've released. And I'm a sucker for series of records that all look the same/change slightly with each one - like the old library labels used to like Amphonic, April Orchestra, KPM etc.

Lol. I don't think Blim knows nor cares about the internet existing let alone mp3s.

And the Applepips artwork is slick!

the Applepips sleeve design is so sexy that I would take it to bed. Unfortunately they get greasy fingermarks very easily, so I can't. :(

There are shitloads that 'blim's got to get through before he reaches the end of his release schedule. Here are just some of the forthcoming bits:

Ramadanman - Humber
Jus Wan - Action Potential
Greena - Houze
T++ - Audio19958
Geiom & Appleblim - Shreds
