If You Had a Time Machine...

Post by kins83 » Fri Sep 19, 2008 2:32 pm

Which historical figure would you bring back for a chat/to go out on the lash with etc, and why?

For me, it'd have to be Charles Darwin. His revolutionary thinking and pioneering work into evolution shaped the biological science that is studied today. He must have been a very strong willed man to have maintained his scientific beliefs, when they were in such stark contadiction to the beliefs of his devoutly religious wife and the vast majority of society around him.

Now, what say you, Ninjas?

I'd try and make Hitler smoke a doob with me, I'd change history for ever. I actually really would like to meet hitler though, just too see what he was all about. Not saying that I am a izan tho.

Wow. Good question. :D

Off the top of my head... Jimi Hendrix. He used the studio as an instrument almost as much as his guitar, so Id love to hear what he could/would do with todays modern gear... especially after hearing some modern dance music and hip hop.

Lemme think a lil harder though... killer thread Kins.

Can the person be a historical figure to yourself but not nesacairly to someone else? I.E A very important family member that was always talked about, but you were too young to remember?

Yeah man of course, anybody you like. I like the way you think though. Some of that sort of stuff would be fascinating.

yeah but he didn't spawn a whole new religious following, one that has had such a heavy impact on the state of the world today.

I'd go see my great grandad, everyone in my family says he was the most amazing guy ever, plus he came from Burma and thought for the indians in WW2, now he will have some stories.

if it had to be a person, Jesus Christ just to see what he says about the current state of Fundamentalists. And the Marquis de Sade to see just how deviant he actually was.

If its a time tho, I'd love to have been a fly on the wall during the Council of Nicea <sp> just to see what was left out of the Bible as we know it and why.

I would reverse engineer the time machine and go forwards in time and stab Margaret Thatcher to see if the so called Iron Lady actually bled.

Then I would go back in time and live life like as if nothing ever happened.

Why would you need to go forwards in time to stab Margaret Thatcher?

Because if I went back in time to stab her, I would return to the present and be in prison.

If I did it in the future, I won't be in prison when I return and I can not stab her and change the course of the future.

AND he would have aged so much that the person they'd be looking for wouldn't look anything like he would when he got to the moment.

Man.....this would make hitmen damned near godlike at that point.

Maybe time travel isn't such a good thing.
