I'm going over for the first time next month for a week. Got some stuff noted down like a boat full of stray cats and some record shops and that, anyone got any recommendations of things to do/see? :D

Abraxus is the best coffeeshop I found while over there. Ignore the majority of the museums as they are tourist traps. Coco's Outback is a good place for nice food and beer....

Also, and it all depends of the individual, I thought the Red Light District was horrible. You should still check it out but its pretty uncomfortable place to be (especially at night).

I wonder what the coffeeshops are like now that you can't smoke tobacco? Hopefully they havent been hit too badly. I think they are using Coltsfoot now instead.

Most of them have installed waterpipes and provide some sort of blending tobacco that is legal under the new smokinglaws there.

Was reading about this place when i was in Amsterdam, think it was Club 11 though. Closed down now as the whole building was being renovated.

And the tobacco ban is mostly bullshit, most places we went to didn't give a fuck and the ones that did gave you these nice herbs as an alternative.
