Digital Noesis - Oppenheimer's Dream (320 Inside!)

Post by noesis » Mon Oct 13, 2008 6:26 pm

Thick, deep low end to pressurize the room with a sorrowful cry on top.

Thanks. I like deep gritty sounds next to very soft sounds. Her voice is very sad and enchanting, yet powerful.

I thought the concept of this tune was cool - quite enjoyed the idea,

but am I the only one that found it quite distorted? Not pleasantly distorted imo; not a continuous crunch, but only one that kicks in with the louder elements. Unless that's what you're going for..

Thanks man, it's my first tune so I'm still learning ... feedback is awesome!

There is a wobble that is fixtured in the lower midbass that has a lot of distortion, intentionally. With the thick low end rumble I wanted the wobble to make it sound like the walls are coming down when it is played very loud. With big subs the room pressurizes and then that distortion would make it sound like the whole place is coming down... that was the idea anyways.

On some of the vocal samples there is some distortion that I tried softening, but its an old recording.

I'll probably make another version of this at some point, maybe call it "Oppenheimer's Nightmare" after I learn producing better. I like the concept too, and I really dug it when I put it up, but now that I've learned more throughout the week I'm already starting to doubt some of my decisions. To be expected I guess.

Thanks again for the feedback! Expect more and better from me!

I did some more listening with my sub disconnected and I can hear the clipping in her voice. I'm going to spend some time and figure out how to remove that (as I like the sample and want to make a gem with it).

Cheers again

right on bro.

yeah - I thought it was really cool. never heard anything like it, so big points on originality. the vocal sample is mint, def. worth cleaning up a touch if you can. for a first tune I'm blown away - keep up the good work, look forward to hearin more.
