I know a DJ who records a lot of things when he's on vacation, in clubs, or walks in the night. He records random things, and most of it is useless, but some of the sounds are so weird that they actually fit into the music perfectly, and makes a unique sound of his tunes. It's a creative process, and it takes a lot of time I think, but that's one way to do it. I hope you could use some inspiration. Good luck!

live streaming dog race sites, online auctions, self help meditation sites, rastafarian churches, recording bums on the street, radio plays, books on tape, sports announcers at thai kickboxing matches, field recordings of jamaican sound system battles. who cares where other people source samples - express yourself.

fyi: the horror movie shit was played out in the 80s. skinny puppy did that to death. and got SUED. youve been warned.

Another good source is to find college lectures that have been posted on-line. If you dig deep enough you can find tons of stuff covering just about any subject matter ... and they are mostly copyright free :)

I got doing this prepping an audio collage for an art installation I am doing next year and still have 12+ hours of lectures to dig through. (Subject matter being abstracts on the concept of evolution.)

I found a few that i am using for tunes as well. One guy has the most rythmic stuttering as his voice is trying to catch up with his mind. I am making a whole frame work for a track around 3-4 samples.
