Right...
Right...
Im totally new to all of this.
I painfully started my passion for learning to mix one very drunken night around a year ago and slowly dwindled the thought of ever being able to put beats together into a set.
A few months ago i bought some Numark Turntables ( not a clue what model) but i soon got rid of them due to no space and never managed to use them.
Now I have finally created that space, and have saved a nice tidy sum in my back burner and basically i want to get into this sooo badly.
i always go to Dubstep nights when they are on and normally i no the team that run the nights so i get to get behind stage do a bit of live art and watch the Dj's mix some dirttty wonkey tunes out.
It Gives me so much inspiration i just want to get out and learn it!
I just got back from a wonkey night last saturday and my whole body is buzzing again.
I just want to Put somthing back into music that gives me so much.
Even if im terrible it just returning to the roots of your music and thats gives me the biggest buzz off all.
Any tips or suggestions to decks and a mixer.
Price range is sensible i dont want a lump of spinney rubbish but not the most expensive table in the world just somthing comfortable to use and no i have a chance to test it to there limits
thanks
Carma

stanton 120s (or if you can afford - 150s). easily better than technics for me, higher torque, and just generally sicker for the same price
pioneer make the best mixers imo, but really expensive, so it depends what you want to compromise for a cheaper price (sound quality, fx, etc)

Gumtree you can get 1210's for cheap. Have a look on there.Chef wrote:Technics 1210's are the standard like red blood.Carma wrote:Has Anyone Got any links to some Uk shops for where you get your gear from?

Don't bother with any other turntable.
Get a good, basic durable mixer and then save for a good complex durable mixer. Don't bother getting a pony mixer with loads of tricks.
