I'm at university in London studying music, am doing a research project about dubstep focusing on its strong London roots and how its being received as it spreads internationally. Your help would be wicked!

Does dupstep have a particularly 'london' sound, if so why and how?
Would you connect the music with a particular place?
Any non-UK forum users - where are you from and where did you first hear dubstep? How did it spread?
Role of the internet in the success of dubstep?
