I bought an 18 inch sub years ago for off sumone for £15 which turns out is worth about £120-150 an has just been sittin about doing nothing, so last weekend we put together a box for it, which cost us about £20 for all the shit we needed, an took about 3-4 hours, bargin price an it kicks arse.

Will upload a little pic ;)

I've got a 20watt logitech sub, it's lacking to say the least, though it has managed to cause a crack down my brothers wall 8)

i've got some half decent old speakers hooked up to an amp but to add some bass i ran a sub from one of those 2.1 pc speaker packages you can get straight off the monitor output on my mixer.

added something i suppose, need to get the crossover set up though.

you can pick up car subs+amp packages for dirt cheap though.might consider it. do you need something to convert 240v to 12v(?) car battery to power it?

used to have 2 x 12" car subs indoors in a custom made box, but they ended up dying and also took up too much space so had to get rid.
To power you need a transformer box, it has 2 crocodile clips on one end (to connect to the car amp) and a 230v 3 pin plug on the other end. I hid the amp and transformer in a cavity at the back of the box and put a switch on the top for easier turining on / off

my mate's got an Eltax sub and it's wicked. Not stunning sound quality, but moves air in the way you want. Richer Sounds sell em pretty cheap, start at 40 quid, and they've got a Gale (good brand) sub for about 70...

i'm thinkin bout gettin a new sound system setup myself. was thinkin bout gettin a 5.1 system to function as both my tv and soundsystem audio. any advice on this? should i just stick with buying an amp and speakers?? if so any recommendations for an amp? haven't invested in a new audio setup for a good 8 years or so, hence the little or no knowledge. :(

I just got one of these Logitech 5.1 systems, seems pretty decent. Does pretty good at vibrating the walls and almost passes the levitate-the-plastic-cup test with a bit of help. Could probably put together a better system but I'm errr...lazy. And living in a flat probably doesn't help too.

I bought myself an eltax A10 around 2yrs ago off ebay for 40quid and have it to add a bit of weight to my b&w 684's. Yeah it could be a bit better but can't really complain for home use.

for that price i would hope it's pretty decent. still considering options. 5.1 or amp/sub combo
