Automation on an aux track in logic 8

Hi im having a bit of trouble with automation. Im trying to send 2 audio channels to an aux track and then automate the effect on that aux track but cant seem to figure out how to do it. can anyone help??

This is a real dumb way to do it but it works for me.
set the Aux track to latch/touch, then hit play and just move a parameter on whatever plugin it is you want to automate, then press stop and put the Aux on to read. Go back to ur arrange page and if you look down the list of channels the Aux should have popped up allowing you to automate till your hearts content.

or, in the mixer screen, click options--> create new arrange tracks from selected tracks, and write yr automation in in the arrange window.

go to the mixer press right click on the aux and press create

after that the aux comes into your arrangement. enjoi
