UK Trends is proud to present the debut LP from Threnody, The Science of Silence.
Alien textures are offset by precise drum science and bass that puts a warped looking glass on the underground post-garage music landscape. The album also draws on Threnody’s love of modern classical music with lush orchestral scoring running through the album and vocal cuts taken from speeches by John Cage, Stockhausen and Arvo Part.
The album switches between ambient, spacious and blissful workouts through to rough, bass heavy bombs but all underscored with a characteristic sound searching out the contrasts in bitcrushed, distorted drums and pure, clean melodies.

2. Ten Past Midnight
3. Blast From The Past
4. Step 2 The Millenium
5. Shadow Weaver
6. The Way E-A
The forth release on UK TRENDS is a 6 track EP from Full Spektrum.
2009 has been a huge year for Full Spektrum with a string of releases on a number of forward thinking labels and UK Trends is proud to be releasing his biggest EP yet with 6 tracks of bass music routed in the rich sounds of genres past whilst still looking towards the future. The EP takes influence from 2step, rave, jungle, 4x4 and weaves these elements together into a unique mix of dancefloor beats full of energy and melody.
Step 2 the Millennium attacks the sounds of UKG and pumps out the swung beats and female vocals to glitched out, bass destroying effect whilst The Way E-A is a 4x4 rave anthem for the 21st century. Blast from the Past takes the hardcore jungle vibes of 1994 and turns them into a polished, halfstep, beat driven track and Puzzlebox and Ten Past Midnight create a unique sound laying down new formulas to be copied and repeated well after this time in the ‘nuum has past.
A huge release with variety, complexity and intelligent dancefloor beats

Not In My Name - EP.ONE - UKTRNDZ 002
UK Trends
1. Unbreathed
2. Glass
3. Slung Fire
4. Scatter
The second release on UK TRENDS is a 4 track EP from Not In My Name.
Midway through 2008 Not In My Name introduced themselves onto the electronic music scene with an inspired 60 minute live set on Threnody’s SUB FM show. Since then dubplates have been circling in clued up DJs boxes and a stunning remix of Forensics’ minimal classic Exile surfaced on Digital Sin Recordings. The dust then settled as NIMN went into the studio to perfect their debut EP released now on UK Trends.
Unbreathed introduces the EP with gentle ethnic vocals and introspective beats exploding into a vast soundscape during the breakdown. Glass takes things into minimalist territories with triplet melodies offset low end bass. Slung Fire enters blissful pastures with ambient synths interlinking with broken beats, and Scatter finishes the EP in tearout style with distorted melodies crashing against raging, claustrophobic beats.

Threnody - No Hype EP - UKTRNDZ 001
UK Trends
1. Baghdad Street
2. To Have You
3. Hype Hype
The first release on UK TRENDS is a 3 track EP from label founder Threnody. UKTRNDZ 001 demonstrates the mantra of the label with 3 tracks of unclassifiable electronic music. Sound system weight and headphone complexity.
Baghdad Street includes sampled drumming recorded on the streets of Istanbul which have been transformed into a sound system sized percussion work out. To Have You is a dark slice of breakbeat garage whilst Hype Hype enters completely indefinable territory with urgent and claustrophobic breaks riding under a muted trumpet and pounding sub bass.

Original Message___________________________________________________________
After many years I have finally got round to starting my label. It has always been a huge ambition of mine to do this!
The label is called UK TRENDS which is the collective name me and Succulent-C have been going under since 2001...Also on board at this stage is Hedfukkah and Not In My Name.
The concept for the label is to release EP/album's rather than just banger singles with releases in a variety of formats and focus on the music as a product rather than just a fleeting moment in a rave or pirate radio.
Listeners to my show will know all about the first few tracks i'm releasing and also the artists involved but just incase you don't know check out the newly reworked UK TRENDS website...
http://www.uktrendsmusic.co.uk
