UK Trends is proud to present the debut LP from Threnody, The Science of Silence.

Alien textures are offset by precise drum science and bass that puts a warped looking glass on the underground post-garage music landscape. The album also draws on Threnody’s love of modern classical music with lush orchestral scoring running through the album and vocal cuts taken from speeches by John Cage, Stockhausen and Arvo Part.

The album switches between ambient, spacious and blissful workouts through to rough, bass heavy bombs but all underscored with a characteristic sound searching out the contrasts in bitcrushed, distorted drums and pure, clean melodies.

DJ support from Plaid (Warp), Rob Booth (Electronic Explorations), Starkey (Ninja Tune), Roko (Sub FM), Ursa (The Centrifuge) and many more...

Threnody - Blunted EP - (UK Trends) - UKTRNDZ 008

1. Be There
2. Metamorphic
3. Blunted

After an 11 month hiatus UK Trends returns with a storming EP from Threnody. Balancing dancefloor destruction with evolving melodies and glitched out beats the EP packs a punch at raves whilst working as the soundtrack to the post-club come down.

Be There is in-your-face wonked out breakstep with an epic female vocal and twisted synths.
Metamorphic takes rave bleeps and breaks and turns them into a 21st Century technicolour workout
Blunted takes the pace down with IDMish Toasty-esque beats and an ever changing melody reminiscent of early warp

Threnody - To Flow EP - (UK Trends) - UKTRNDZ 007

1. Holdin On
2. Coda
3. Flux

The seventh release on UK Trends is a second EP from Threnody. This EP displays Threnody signature sound of glitched out breaks, deep atmospherics and complex melodies bridging the gap between the dancefloor and home listening.

This EP features three cuts encompassing electronic, future garage, dubstep, breakstep and glitch. The artwork for the release was photographed by the mighty Chris Lowe.

-Holdin On is a slice of upbeat, summertime breakstep featuring emotive melodies, a burial-esque vocal, booming bass and raw glitched beats.

-CODA is a Threnody classic with swung garage beats, mutant bassline vibes, techno melodies and a second drop to destroy any dancefloor. Pure carnage whenever it is played this one is complete Techno Garage.

-Flux is an epic Threnody breakstep track. Clean, chopped beats, thumping bass, twisted female vocals and evolving melodies. The perfect track to bridge the gap between the early Threnody breakstep sounds of 2006 and his forthcoming album.

PARADIGM X - We Both Are Lost EP - (UK Trends) - UKTRNDZ 006

1. Talking About God
2. Whatever
3. Afrael
4. We Both Are Lost

The fifth release on UK Trends is from Paradigm X. The EP is 4 years in the making with the tracks going through countless revisions and edits to get to the finished stage they are at now. We Both Are Lost has become a lost classic of the dubstep scene after massive airplay in 2007/2008, hitting the mighty Scuba’s Top 10 and receiving huge support. Remaining unreleased until now the track has built up cult status and this fresh reworking for 2010 is set to become a classic all over again in very different times for dubstep!

Talking About God is an experimental Dancefloor smasher combining heavyweight bass and thumping beats whilst Whatever and Afrael explore deeper territory with the former taking choral vocals and mixing them with pure breakage and the latter taking a worldwide journey with an incredible breakdown straight out of Africa. This EP is a work of art, intricately crafted with every beat, bass switch & glitch perfected over 4 years of audio experimentation by the mighty Paradigm X!

2. Dance With The Devil
3. Depth Charger
4. Manifesting Reality

The fifth release on UK Trends is from UK/US crew Hellfire Machina. Currently residing in New York Jody & Tom have made quite a name for themselves in the last year as HELLFIRE MACHINA. Following years of producing under various names including Sunz Of Mecha & J-Pac they have taken the dubstep world by storm gaining support from some key DJs and having a slew of releases on labels such as W.E Recordings and Wayside. 2010 looks set to be another massive year with a fistful of new releases the first of which is the Manifesting Reality EP on UK TRENDS.

FULL SPEKTRUM - Puzzlebox EP - (UK Trends) - UKTRNDZ 004

1. Puzzlebox
2. Ten Past Midnight
3. Blast From The Past
4. Step 2 The Millenium
5. Shadow Weaver
6. The Way E-A

The forth release on UK TRENDS is a 6 track EP from Full Spektrum.

2009 has been a huge year for Full Spektrum with a string of releases on a number of forward thinking labels and UK Trends is proud to be releasing his biggest EP yet with 6 tracks of bass music routed in the rich sounds of genres past whilst still looking towards the future. The EP takes influence from 2step, rave, jungle, 4x4 and weaves these elements together into a unique mix of dancefloor beats full of energy and melody.

Step 2 the Millennium attacks the sounds of UKG and pumps out the swung beats and female vocals to glitched out, bass destroying effect whilst The Way E-A is a 4x4 rave anthem for the 21st century. Blast from the Past takes the hardcore jungle vibes of 1994 and turns them into a polished, halfstep, beat driven track and Puzzlebox and Ten Past Midnight create a unique sound laying down new formulas to be copied and repeated well after this time in the ‘nuum has past.

A huge release with variety, complexity and intelligent dancefloor beats

The third release on UK TRENDS is a 6 track EP from Succulent-C. Four years in the making this debut release for Succulent-C sees six tracks of bass heavy, wonky and abstract beats surface after creating destruction on the airwaves and dancefloors. 21st Century Box and I Need hold the world record for rewinds with the bass devastation destroying the dance time after time whilst Tune Army and Brakitry both build to explosive drops. Not In My Name - EP.ONE - UKTRNDZ 002
UK Trends

1. Unbreathed
2. Glass
3. Slung Fire
4. Scatter

The second release on UK TRENDS is a 4 track EP from Not In My Name.

Midway through 2008 Not In My Name introduced themselves onto the electronic music scene with an inspired 60 minute live set on Threnody’s SUB FM show. Since then dubplates have been circling in clued up DJs boxes and a stunning remix of Forensics’ minimal classic Exile surfaced on Digital Sin Recordings. The dust then settled as NIMN went into the studio to perfect their debut EP released now on UK Trends.

Unbreathed introduces the EP with gentle ethnic vocals and introspective beats exploding into a vast soundscape during the breakdown. Glass takes things into minimalist territories with triplet melodies offset low end bass. Slung Fire enters blissful pastures with ambient synths interlinking with broken beats, and Scatter finishes the EP in tearout style with distorted melodies crashing against raging, claustrophobic beats.

Threnody - No Hype EP - UKTRNDZ 001
UK Trends

1. Baghdad Street
2. To Have You
3. Hype Hype

The first release on UK TRENDS is a 3 track EP from label founder Threnody. UKTRNDZ 001 demonstrates the mantra of the label with 3 tracks of unclassifiable electronic music. Sound system weight and headphone complexity.

Baghdad Street includes sampled drumming recorded on the streets of Istanbul which have been transformed into a sound system sized percussion work out. To Have You is a dark slice of breakbeat garage whilst Hype Hype enters completely indefinable territory with urgent and claustrophobic breaks riding under a muted trumpet and pounding sub bass.

Original Message___________________________________________________________

After many years I have finally got round to starting my label. It has always been a huge ambition of mine to do this!

The label is called UK TRENDS which is the collective name me and Succulent-C have been going under since 2001...Also on board at this stage is Hedfukkah and Not In My Name.

The concept for the label is to release EP/album's rather than just banger singles with releases in a variety of formats and focus on the music as a product rather than just a fleeting moment in a rave or pirate radio.

Listeners to my show will know all about the first few tracks i'm releasing and also the artists involved but just incase you don't know check out the newly reworked UK TRENDS website...

http://www.uktrendsmusic.co.uk

Some free mixes/tunes etc on there.

The first release is digital only (mainly because it is too long to fit on vinyl!) although future releases will be out on CD, Vinyl, DAT etc....

First release:-

Threnody - No Hype EP - (UKTRNDZ 001)

1. Baghdad St
2. To Have You
3. Hype Hype

Release date: 30/01/2009

Full artwork will be put up on release and the tunes are expertly mastered at 'the depot'. So the emphasis is on a quality product even in the digital domain.

For a sneak preview of Baghdad St the video is here
http://uk.youtube.com/watch?v=Ccg92fWHjok

Future releases are:-

Feb - Not In My Name EP
Mar - Succulent-C - 21st Century Box EP (featuring remixes by Threnody, NIMN, Hedfukkah)
