All filters tested on a Massive bass patch in live 7
First up 2 rule filter http://www.grupvega.net/tugrul/

This plugin wins the award for worst front panel design. All the controls are difficult to read and the layout is shite. But this filter does one thing well and that is distorted glitchy bass and lead lines. Its like supertrigger. With an internal buffer that spits out audio randomly. This plug is just for filthy glitchyness its not somethign you would use for everyday filter work
Aeiou Vowel Filter http://azertopia.free.fr/

Another specialist filter. Splitting lead lines and bass lines then processing the layers separately is something alot of us do and this is where Aeiou comes in handy. Im holding on to this vst
Beta Bugs Crayon Filter http://www.betabugsaudio.com/plugs.php

No lfo no Env follower and a sound that is to transparent this filter would be good for corrective work. I just dont like the sound of it. It has no character.
Cableguys Filtershaper http://www.cableguys.de/

OH fuck yes this is exactly what i have been looking for a great filter with a great interface and lots of modulation options.
"FilterShaper enables you to bring life to your sounds and loops. You can draw any curve, assign it to its 4 LFOs and use them to modulate filter cutoff and filter resonance of its great sounding filters. Or just modulate the volume.
Its drawing possibilities are ultra-flexible, yet easy to use. You can draw any curves you like shaping hard-synced or analogue-sounding rhythms. Create interesting rhythmic strings, shape a bass sound, destroy vocal recordings, create vivid shaker rhythms out of white noise, etc. You can go from subtle changes to extreme modulations, from little sound corrections to nicely filtered rhythmic loops. Its various filters can be set to drastic values from zero resonance up to self-oscillation.
You can change all parameters via automation (if your host sequencer can handle it). Everything. Even the shape of the modulating wave can be automated. Choose which wave is in use at any position in your song, change the loop length, record and play back any wave point movements and assign any hardware controller to any parameter in FilterShaper. Even with heavy modulations, with tempo changes in the host or jumping at different positions of a song, the modulation always stays in sync."
This plug is free to use but if you want to run more then one instance you will have to pay. For all the wibble artists out there this is well worth a look. Ten banks of wibbles which can be up to 32 bars of constantly evolving filter sweeps hooked up to two great filters. Plus full automation.
Kjaerhus Audio Auto filter http://www.kjaerhusaudio.com/

Lfo, Env follower, Sync, but it just does not sound great. It has the worst bandpass i have heard so far.
Glow http://www.gvst.co.uk/

Simple vst with just cutoff res and gain. Low pass only. Nothing special about this little vst the sound is ok
Hypervst http://www.rocksonics.com/
Cutoff, Filter slope select, Low pass only. Very transparent sounding.
And thats it for now more reviews coming when i get a chance to check out the rest of the filters.
