Massive vst general question
If i have massive open more than once in a project it seeeriously hogs cpu, so i was wondering if theres any way of getting more than one sound out of the vst without having to have it running more than once?
Sorry if that doesnt make a lot of sense, but yeh i would appreciate any help or advice on how to lower the cpu or anything.

"Even though Massive's engine is highly optimized for the latest processor generations and their SIMD extensions you might reach the processor limits of your computer. Therefore, Massive provides three engine quality modes which serve different use cases and processor generations.
- ULTRA for uncompromising sound quality (default setting)
- HIGH provides a very good trade off between CPU consumption and sound quality
- ECO for slower computer setups and multiple instances in host environments"

Or fuck Massive entirely and support indy developers like this fella ----> http://www.audjoo.com/Helix
Audjoo Helix is a sick synth, uses hardly any cpu and sounds better than Massive every day of the week.
If you're skint you can use the freeware beta version which is downloadable here ---> http://www.gersic.com/plugins/index.php ... t&action=1
I quote the overview of Helix

Braptism!Helix is a Wave-Table-Shaping, Phase modulation, Virtual Analog, Physical Modelling Hybrid Synthesizer. Unusually high sound quality, massive modulation, creative audio-routing and many built-in effects all make Helix a synth easy to like.
Hmp. (shrug) What the h3ll, I'll give it a listen...futures_untold wrote:Or fuck Massive entirely and support indy developers like this fella ----> http://www.audjoo.com/Helix

So I am going to check that helix thingy out, looks good.
But back to the original question. Unless you have a super computer you don't want to be opening multiple massive's at once.
All you have to do is: just bounce down all your ideas into audio and then arrange all the audio in your sequencer. Easy as that, and that method also allows you to cut and paste all sorts of dif. versions together to make for the crazyness!

I run a scant 2GB of RAM on a single core processor and Massive will everything I need it too w/o f'n s**t up.
But yeah, bounce your track down to a wav file, always the best idea unless you're using it as a live instrument synth, then you're best using eco mode or buying more RAM.
