tune id - believe in something...
really REALLY needing to know who's remix the funky version of the tune with the vocal that goes 'you got to believe in something, why not believe in me'. d-malice dropped it at night slugs, heard it on crazi cousinz rinse show too. far as i can tell there's been about a million mixes of it over the years - if anyone knows who did the funky one, i'd be like

just got round to this - heavy, ta 4 posting mix.
one thing that bugs me a bit about funky tho is the tendency for youngers getting into it, straight out of dubstep/grime, and claiming discovery for tunes that have been around for ages. this tune a good example - from '07, but being dropped now - also applies to dj gregory/defected stuff, mirror dance, them kind of tunes, all of which i've heard around and about for time (generally in gay clubs - another interesting crossover).
not to cuss - great that old and nu skool house are being mixed up - but the few older skool house heads that i know find it quite funny. also quite funny that sets are being played out at fwd that would more than satisfy yr average late 30s gay guy who checked for trade/dtpm back in the day...

I think when people are just getting into a genre they scratch the surface and find the bigger tracks, the more they listen to it the deeper they'll go and catch up with what is being played right now.
isn't that ultimately a great thing?rachel wrote:just got round to this - heavy, ta 4 posting mix.
