Sad state of affairs

Post by chewie » Mon Feb 09, 2009 1:41 am

Was browsing the net and found a torrent link to one of our releases
What the hell is that all about? People ripping dubstep tunes off the net with torrents really need to sort there shit out especially when this is a pretty small underground scene.

They have been ripping dubstep since I got into it like 4 years ago. Maybe even longer. I have a few things in torrent land now. See thread in the dubstep section  Write it off as promotion I suppose. Ain't shit you can do.

I was actually browsing google images looking for the cover of our yes man/joe grizzly release to stick on the myspace tunes and came across this:

Edited. Do not post Torrent information on this site. Our rules are clear. Thank you

Why not join that forum and blast your website/myspace url everywhere (or at least in that thread).

Give the people a reason not to rip your tunes (maybe with some old freebies?)

Just ideas really... I'm not sure how you can enforce the site from linking to your music.. Maybe contact the site admin or the original seeder?

I see your point but still ain't cool especially when 320s are like a couple of bucks or something. Pretty tragic as music sales for dubstep as you probably know are real low at the mo

Don't suppose you know where that thread is in the dubstep section? Sure i saw it last year can't seem to find it.
Did come across that thread about illegally releasing tunes/foul play. That's some pretty messed up shit!

i agree with aforementioned idea of registering and pointing them towards your websites etc.

people are always going to torrent (despite what governments and big record labels seem to think)

but something like this just shows that people enjoy, and want to have, your music

wish some of my stuff got torrented =(
