Reason 4-Setup help

Post by dexdur » Wed Feb 11, 2009 7:40 pm

aite every1

I have just finished linking up my set up. I have a novation sound card linked via USB to the PC and a keyboard linked to the sound card via the midi out and have put it in the midi in part of the sound card.

reason is recognising the keyboard is there however you will play a note and have to wait a while before you can play another one!? when obviously you should be able to hit several immediately afterwards. The keyboard is a yamaha one with a midi out and i dont know why its not working properly. any help would be much appreciated!

thanks

Sounds like what's called latency.

Easiest way to get rid of it is to change your soundcard to the Asio drivers.

You can do this by going to Edit ---> Prefernces ----> Audio.

Just change your soundcard setting in there until you here things are going how you want them! :)

Be sure you won't crash your computer though. Low latencies can be quite demanding on a system. If you think you have a powerful system, then you shouldn't worry.
