Are you serious?? London has some of the most highly rated restaurants in the World.hera wrote:seriously? no
although after lots of digging I managed to find very good dim sum & indian food in soho.
Good Indian food is not to be had in Soho. You really need to go to the east end to find that.
All of the worlds cuisines are represented in London, on a pretty high level.
If you like all things Meat i would go to

If you like Indian/Pakistani food i would go to the Lahore Kebab House on Commercial Road. It's not a smart affair but the food is amazing.

I was just thinking earlier about how I was really craving some good British food. What is British food?
It's all about Beans on toast really innit. Also Beef turnovers... are those British? I dunno, but they sure are good. I'm no help, I was actually just curious myself what constitutes British food?

Green lanes if you like Turkish food. There are some really good Indian's in Stokenewington as well as some really good Turkish places. As a rule i would say avoid the west end as there are some good places but you have to know where you are going. Most of the restaurant's are tourist traps.
Good luck
Good luck

If you like Vietnamese food go to Kingsland Rd in Shorditch or Mare St in Hackney.
Both places are pretty close to each other and there are quite a few places to choose from, the food is fucking really nice as well

What's your price range?
If you want to push the boat out a bit, go to the Blue Elephant in Fulham. Amazing Thai food sat in what feels like a clearing in the jungle.. there's streams and stuff going through the restaurant. It's a bit expensive though... probably need to allow £100 for 2 people.
Really recommended.
For a good old fashioned Sunday Roast (because yeah, the Brits didn't contribute anything to world cuisine...) try the Approach Tavern in Bethnal Green. Everything made fresh (including the mint sauce - they made up a special batch for my brother who was allergic to something in it), decent value and good beers/ciders on tap too.
I imagine all the Americans giggling at our food reputation had something other than a roast on Thanksgiving?

All you can eat and they bring you the meat on swords, I don't see how anyone could want to eat anything else
