there are literally too many to keep track of and i think i want pretty much all of them. n-type is wicked for playing them but never says what they're called! i think probably because he doesn't know either!
help benga please.
still available on http://www.bleep.com/?label=Planet+MuFuriouz wrote:Comb60s/Killers About should be out on Planet Mu soon...
i think that ones called 'music box'.Fushimi wrote:There's one Benga only tune with a tinkly synth melody which I don't think is covered
sterling effort nonethelessFushimi wrote:sorry I can't come up with any better descriptions than those above.
thats some good info for the masses bro... theres also 2 tunes called catchFushimi wrote:Comb 60s/Killers About are older tunes that were on the Gutterbreakz mix; you can get the mp3/FLACs from bleep already but the vinyl isn't out yet. It should be out 25th September. Also Hatcha/Benga 10 Tons Heavy/Progression should be out October 2nd, again older tunes.
The new Benga tunes are the ones with the distinctive "slappy" snare sound. I think things have got really confused cos of N-Type's "eccentric" tune IDing. As far as I can make out the following tunes exist:
Duel - has a little chime melody
Flames - breaky drums, lots of beeps, apocolyptic synths, sounds a bit like Judgement Remix
Still Rockin' - not that new, been on Benga's myspace for a while
Middleman - deep skanking rhythm with hi-hats galore
Live Drumz/Live Drummage - er, got live drums. My favourite of the new tracks. Fuuuuuuuunky
Wobblerz - very wobbly.
Evolution - Rhodes keys arpeggiated, breaky drums
The above are gonna be on the Big Apple double pack. The below...who knows?
King of Kings - sounds like the Naked Gun theme. With bass.
The Germ - can't remember what this one is like
Tron Project - starts with a monkey cry and has big buuuuuuuuuuuuuuh bass drops. Sounds a bit like Benga & Walsh - Spooksville. Very good.
Africa's Cry - starts with a really quick arpeggiated thingy weaving in and out and then has...an cry that sounds more like a child than anything african. And buuuuuuuuuuuuuuu bass.
Dubclap - this has been rinsed, claps and bass innit.
Then:
Judgement Remix with Skream - got THE Benga snare sound though, one of the biggest tunes about
Blues (Crazy D vocal) - not coming out it seems
World War 7 Vocal with Coki - raaaah raaaah raaaah
There's one Benga only tune with a tinkly synth melody which I don't think is covered..sorry I can't come up with any better descriptions than those above.
