Hey all, i've been producing drum and bass aswell as dub step for a couple of years now. And it seems alot more effort is put in to get a good drum and bass sound... rather than a dubstep tune...
I think this rings true in the stuff we hear today. The good stuff coming out of drum and bass today is sooo rich in production quality, and i'm yet to be convinced and dub producers have come close to creating sounds as good as the ones i've heard in d'n'b productions (e.g. Spor - Valentine.. Noisia - Exodus, The panacea - cryptonomicon... pendulum..)
Can someone convince me otherwise?
Feel free to flame

There was also a point where DNB lost it's raw underground sound and became overproduced.
I love both genres, but I feel dubstep is cutting more new ground, where dnb has stagnated a little.

dnb became a nice loudness and peep my production skills war to me and a bunch of wannabes trying to copy every big name producers sound with engineering skill but no musical ability to write anything remotely unique
oh yea and what the fuck happened to dynamics in dnb?
that being said it's all about the choppage and drumfunk
oh and you're gonna get the shit flamed out of you btw
this will prolly end up just as retarded as the i hate wobble thread on here and the 140bpm thread on the main forum

All post credibility has been lost.

This !!!
production level is through the roof, and some insanely intense beats
EDIT
allthough that said, if you are struggling to find high levels of production in dubstep, you either arent looking hard enough, or looking at all

So can anyone recommend some well produced tunes?
I'm not slating dubstep (it serves a great purpose), i'm just not hearing the quality (production wise) that i'd expect from other electronic genres...

do seriously put pendulum in with spor, noisia and panacea?
look a bit deeper into dubstep before you decide on it's production values.

People still listen to drum and bass?? I think it's just because drum and bass, you have a lot more drum fills and other rather annoying sounds throughout the song.... Dubstep is pretty striped down as far as the number of traks that are in the tune on average.. Maybe it's cause drum and bass is faster and has an higher bpm we precieve the production value as harder.. Can I remind you that in terms of how long the genre has been around compared to drum and bass dubstep has still has not peaked at all, its still a baby relatively speaking.. Personally i can't stand drum and bass it gives me a head ache its way to fast..

BOXCUTTER has some amazing production..
ABLETON LIVE...
