Just an FYI, we had reports of an issue with the download link... so it is temporarily down. Will have it back up today.

As luck would have it, just as I was preparing plans to depart from Minneapolis to replant the Triple Decker in Fargo, the dubstep bug had just begun to take its hold in the Twin Cities region. As DFX’s night at “Mode” night came to a close, others in the Minneapolis area EDM scene began to network and make things happen as a result of and around the dubstep sound. Currently at the head of this movement are the cats behind Mplsdub, a collective of Twin Cities area DJ’s and producers championing the dubstep movement to a pretty good degree.

Part of the Mplsdub collective is the motherfucker known as Dan Hack, Hack, Hack_Subconcious. Minneapolis area DJ rocking drum.n.bass, dubstep, and more - and doing a pretty damn good job of it. For this entry, his offering is a deep cut selection of dubstep and more with the following mindset and objective behind it:

This mix marks the first in a series examining an individuals subconscious narrative throughout the course of a typical day. The first mix provides a soundtrack for the individual’s dreams.

Chatting with him he mentioned several attempts at knocking this one out as best as possible, and I’d say he succeeded fully. Brilliant below the radar and left of center dubstep selections sandwiched between a couple of perfectly fitting personal favorite numbers from Aphex Twin, acheiving just the right mood and overall tone for the intent behind the session. Don’t sleep on this one, despite its namesake, and if you’re in or around the Minneapolis area - be sure to check out the Mplsdub website for more mixes and information about a whole string of dubstep events worthy of your attention.
