TRACKS THAT NEED FEEDBACK

Post by Sharmaji » Fri Apr 17, 2009 4:05 pm

DSF mavens, button dons, non-warez proliferators and alpaca traders:

One of the most important parts of creation is feedback from your peers. Lately, the production forum has grown in a sideways way where folks are bypassing the dubs forum and posting here for feedback; not specifically production related, but definitely part of the process, which leaves us in an unclear state.

SO:

here's what we're gonna do. I'm making stickies out of the "everyone online render and share" and "no love in the dubs section" threads. This should make them easy to find, and hopefully generate even more replies/views/criticism of your tune since they're at the top of the page.

as a follow up: USE THESE THREADS to get feedback on tunes. Otherwise, i'm going to lock off (but not delete, so that you can find them) threads that contain tunes looking for feedback.

The simple rule: Do not post tunes/ideas for feedback in the production forum outside of these 2 threads. Feedback is super-important, and artists also need to learn to give and accept criticism. It's part of the process but not specifically production-related, especially when it comes to finished tunes, so for now--we're going to separate them.

now go CREATE! Daddy needs his new dubplates, too, you know...

Can't you just merge those 3 threads?

I agree. surely the dsf sample pack contest stickies could be unstickied (save for the latest round?)

If the board has a merge function, can't all the Producer Masterclass threads be brought under one page with links to the individual threads?

The wobble thread is cack, I've said it before and will say it again. It should go! :)

Perhaps we can:

1. Rename the "Everyone online render and share what you've got" thread to "post and review works in progress here"
2. unsticky the wobble thread
3. Incorporate the gain structure thread into the production bible
4. unsticky the older DSF threads

That would go a long way in cleaning this place up.

Or unsticky both threads, make a brand new WIP section and threaten to emasculate anyone failing to post in those sections(dubs and WIP) or dig up those 2 threads.

Good looks boys. On the road right now and can't bang this all out on my phone, but will start another round of upgrades on monday.

Been talking w the admins on how to best clean up the main page; got a ways to go but we're the ugly bastard child of dsf no longer.

Edit:actually screw it; stickies cleaned up...work-in-progress threads to develop in the near.

mate just to clear this up, these two threads are for track needing feedback yes? This 1 is of tracks in progress and the other 1 is for track that are completed and you said don't make a thread for feedback anywhere else beside this 2 threads yh then whats the whole dub section for lol? and then where do you post tracks to give out for free like uno its good but your just want to give it out. cuz that's what the dub section was there for before i think ?

Hey Tarekete,

Can you revise this thread to include the instructions of leaving feedback for 3 other tunes before asking for feedback for 1 song.

I think if we do this, and people are respectful of this rule, this forum would be even more helpful, and people would be more encouraged to follow the rules and use those two threads.
