I've been in Amsterdam for 1 week.
There i was not drinking, but somkeing something and then i visited some recordshops where i spend a lot of money.
I've got 2 more days to stay in Amsterdam and questioned me in the last shop I visited: 'should i really spend the last 20 bucks i had for that record or should i keep it for something to eat and drink'
Guess what i've done!

Yup, used to do it all the time.
Used to run a pub, so I lived on site - no bills, no rent, all my money was expendable, so it was a ritual train ride to Hard to Find Records in Birmingham and rinsed about £250 each month on records - then going back to said pub and rinsing the bar / tunes! brilliant!
Bit different but.... still fun / reckless with cash!

The Croft in Bristol during the day time...PeteL wrote:I've always thought a bar/record shop under one roof would be a winner and would do wonders for vinyl sales. I'd be there day and night!!

A bit more selection though - it's mostly old skool stuff - though I found a Soul Position album (RJD2 and Bluprint) for £4 - bargainous!

bout a year and a half back, we had hatcha and benga playing a gig in montreal in this all night party in a record store... there was a huge space for the dancefloor but you could get yourself a drink and go and buy a couple of tunes...
got myself a signed copy "night" that night... before anyone else in montreal... or almost!
a night I will never forget.... acctually I got so trashed I've no clue how I managed to get home but.... heck I did! and when i woke up, I had brand new records to listen to!

A good record shop should pass a few cans around on a Friday,or at least get a round from the localI've always bring me a set of Tennants when I shop records in London, not sure if thats allowed anymore though lol
