Weird. for some reason i was thinking of a tattoo thread on the bus to college this morning. lol.

Yeah I have a couple. Depends where you get them, they do hurt but depedns what your pain threshold is. it kinda feels really sore more than anything like something rubbing over the same area over and over again for a while.

It's a weird kind of pain though, when i got mine, it fuckin hurt but was an enjoyable pain :? lol. Kind of addictive. but yeah they dont hurt enough to make you cry unless your a pussy

Got 5 so far. Nah they aint that bad. Just depends where you get them.

The first one I got was on my back, and that hurt like a motherfucker! The most recent one I got across my chest. That wasnt so bad, but it had a lot to do with the artist too.

In order:

yeah they hurt. but its like an open cut hurts.

usually bony parts of your body like the spine, collarbone or ribs hurt ALOT more.

still, the more i get the more i want.

here's a couple of em, i got 8 other ones.

I don't have one myself (although I am going to get one shortly), but I was seeing this girl who had the most amazing tattoo I have ever seen in my life, she's a regular at FWD so some of you may know who I am eluding too. She designed it her self and it's Saint Sebastian as a skeleton with arrows in him, fucking sublime so it is - she really suited it too. I would post a photo of it but it's really not my place to do that!

Once I get myself sorted and come back from Africa and Malta, and have a bit more cash in my back pocket I am going to get one on the underside of my forearm. Three stars, not sure if I want the nautical style yet (but emo) or just plain stars.

I quite fancy getting this too but it isn't to everyones taste I understand.

I have 12, 10 on my left arm, one on my right and one on the right side of my neck.

Anyone who says they don't hurt is lying to make friends, it's multiple needles going in and out of your skin at speed, of course it's going to hurt. But like everyone else has said, it just depends how well you take pain.
It won't kill you, and it will only hurt for a while!

Also depends on where you have them, places which are more sensitive to touch will be more sensitive to get tattoo'd, ie. Wrist, Inside the top of your arm, chest, neck, ribs (this being the bastard so I'm told by many!)

My advice if you're looking to get a tattoo would be, make sure you go to an artist who has a good portfolio, and has done work which you can see first hand, preferably older work to see how well it has held up. Think long and hard about what you actually want done, and where you want it, Book a meeting with the artist you want to use, and get them to draw up something for you and see if you like it, if you don't then don't be afraid to tell them that because it's going on you after all! You're going to get what you pay for at the end of the day, so if you don't have the money at the time to get what you want by someone you want to do it, then wait and save, don't get something you don't like as much or by a shite artist.
After all, it's only on you for life isn't it ;)

Oh and don't get something small to see if it hurts, because that will be the tattoo you regret the most. What a stupid fucking idea that was.....

Sorry for rambling on

PS. Kidstatic, that back piece is niiiiice!

Great advice L5D, I wish I had been given the same useful information before I got mine. Unfortunately I was young and drunk so dont remember if it hurt and kinda regret it now. The work is pretty good but it isnt a design id really choose if I was sober. I want to get a half sleeve and have it covered but I really dont know what i want yet...

Hell yeah! Whattup Ms. Sara? Hows the left coast treating you? Oh and tell Ivy to log into Facebook damn it, I dont use Myspace anymore.

In regards to the white tattoo. I had a friend that wanted one, and pretty much every tattoo artist she talked to advised her against it. Especially since she wanted hers without an outline. They all said it would just fade and "bleed out" over time.

Nooooo! Same goes with UV tattoos.

White tattoos just look like you have a literate parasitic worm living under your skin.

left coast is POPPIN! I havent really had time to recover from Miami!

i'll have to do some research on the white tattoo, i think theres someone on this board (maroon?) whos got a lovely one, and i've been getting real dark in the sun lately and i think it would look good. will have to investigate further -q-
