Shure Whitelabel vs Ortofon Concorde
Which out the two is the better cartridge & stylus?
What do you have at home and what are the major differences in the two?
Cheers.

Personally, I would go with the Ortofon... Ive only used Whitelabels a few times, and didnt really like them. They seem to be a love em or hate em kinda needle, whereas pretty much everyone Ive ever known to have a pair of Ortofons loves em.
At home I have the Shure m447s and love em. Cheap, durable, loud and they track great.

Whitelabels tbh, Ortofon are over priced for what they are imo.
Also dv247 doing Whitelabels for £23, bargain!

Shire win hands down.
Ortofons are the worse needles/carts I have ever used. The yare dust collectors. Even the standard Technics are better than the Ortofons ffs.
If anyone here is retarded enough and would like to swap theres for my Orotfons send me a pm.

Don’t worry about people stealing an idea. If it’s original, you will have to ram it down their throats.
btw these are the best needles you can buy. They sound better than anything else and they will also last longer. They dotn collect dust like Ortofons.

Not everyone likes the Ortos. At least half of everyone you talk to have problems with the connections. If you don't have a TT newer than 5 years then you will probably have problems. It is a design flaw. Pretty shitty to pay that much for a cart and have a channel go out on you every hour or so. Never had such problems with the Whitelables or any problem with them for that matter. They both sound and track great for what it is worth. The 447's are reliable too. I have set of each of all of these needles, don't ask why
Not into the 447's like a lot of people are but they do get recommended time and time again.

I've got a pair of both but can't afford to keep them both so don't know which ones to get rid of?
Personally i prefer the whitelabels but i didn't know if the quality of sound produced from the needle was better or not?
I think it's a preference thing really. I don't think you can go wrong either way purely on sound quality imo. Anymore I don't even give a shit about sound quality because 99% of the time I am using them with control vinyl. Thinking about getting something with a cheaper stylus then get a nice audiophile cart like Grado or something just for listeing and ripping.adam_misst wrote:Read it properly!!! One of mine is like that. Not sure how but I ended up with 2 sets. The black ones and the blue ones. The connections work on one from each set. The OE style is a better bet but IMO it kinda defeats the purpose of having those aerodynamic looking needles.FSTZ wrote:I've played on ortophones that had the arm broken off...
what a nightmare
