Traktor Scratch Duo vs. Traktor 3 LE.

Post by azair » Sat Apr 25, 2009 7:43 pm

Hi all.

I'm writing because I'm a bit confused about Native Instruments two products: Traktor Scratch Duo and Traktor 3 LE.

I've been looking to purchase a DJ midi controller to try out DJing. There's several DJ midi controllers that include Traktor 3 LE. As I understand it, you install the program and connect it to the DJ midi controller. Then you can play all tunes of your MP3-library from your computer and controle it with the DJ midi controller as if it was a pair of turntables or CDJs.

Traktor Scratch Duo comes with two vinyl records, two CDs and an audio interface, so is that program similiar to Traktor 3 LE just without those things?

Do you recommend a poor student to purchase a cheap DJ midi controller with the Traktor 3 LE to start out with, or is that not wise?

If I have two turntables and a mixer, can I use Traktor LE 3 to play tunes from my MP3-library?
