Detonate Indoor Festival

Good show but fucking expensive. And Wiley didnt show? Pretty pissed off about that. And why were Benga and Caspa's set times changed? I went in expecting bass only to hear mid range wobbles and see kids with stupid haircuts moshing

Some dirty bumbaclart stole my new Wigflex jumper which kind of a put a damper on the eve, but thankfully the Wigflex room itself was unbeatable. GLK was intense, Flying Lotus was blissful, Samiyam was ill, and Martyn, Instra:mental and Spam Chop were pure fire as always

Never really bothered with other rooms, nothing really interested me. Tad expensive, but thats to be expected. Still, large night.

Ghostface didn't show either? I know a guy that purely went for those two, he must be pissed off.

SICKKKKKKKKKKKKKKKKK NIGHT.

TRG played one of the best sets ive seen ever.
Quest and Silkie standardly got everyone moving.
Ed Rush and Optical destroyed the drum and bass room superbly.
Gaslamp Killer was fairly good.
Martyn was next level, always brings the interesting selections and superb mixing.
Instramental was the suprise event of the evening, massive massive set.
Fake Blood SICK.
Spam Chop BADBWOY TECHNO DON.
Chase and Dutty Status bringing the funny as party vibes at the end, which in all honestly i thoroughly enjoyed.

YES Detonate, one of the events of the year so far for me :D

Foreign Beggars smashed it! So pissed off with Ghostface, stood around waiting, heard through word of mouth that he hadn't shown up, no one bothered to say anything. So made our way over to EQ, was one in one out, missed all of Skream, then the bouncers decided to shut it off, saying no one else is coming in! Pissed me off even more! wondered around stealth, wigflex room, then thought we'd give EQ another go, luckly caught it the bouncers letting a few people in, got in, in time to see end of benga and most of caspa. Mainly went to see Ghostface, as everyone else who I was bothered about I had seen before, or would most likely see again at some point.

SMASHED IT!!!

i was able to see everyone that i wanted to...i had a problem with the bouncers at EQ as well but i bugged them for time and they let me in.

Benga and Caspa were swapped over because Caspa was coming from another gig in sheffield.

Best night in a VERY VERY long time!

Bring on next year x

Really sorry bout the Ghostface situation. We got an e-mail from his tour manager saying he was running late and wouldn't make the sound check - this isn't uncommon with hip hop acts, then they just didn't show. Often acts are late so we didn't really know whether to announce it and risk him then showing up and playing to no one or what. We were rushing around phoning hotels to see if they'd checked in etc.

Acts which do that properly take the piss. I spoke to Wiley's agent who said that he had gone to Jamaica and not told her - come on! the least either of them could've done is tell us in advance so we can announce or if possible replace.

I hope it didn't spoil, what we think was probably the best event we've done.

Thanks to everyone who attended, and apologies again for the GFK and Wiley situation.

Big up James- was the best detonate in ages. Shame about the no shows, not a lot you can do really. Wiley does seem to be getting a reputation for this though... All in all big night and good vibes!

Sarah? lol.

Yeah.. the night was fucking sick.
Skream was waaaaaaasssteedd.. So his set wasn't the best it could've been, but he played a nice variety of tunes, and big up to him going surfing in the crowd
Didn't go into E.Q till like the last 45 mins of Quest & Silkie, was meant to go see TRG, but got stuck in Stealth with Tomb Crew playing (which wasn't a bad thing btw) lol. After that I headed to Rescue Rooms and walked into Scratch Perverts killing the dance with some filthy dubs and superb mixing & stratching.

Was a bit weary of the Dub being in E.Q, after hearing bad things about it. But tbh.. the system was more than enough, the venues layout was sick, and the vibes were amazing all night. It was packed, but there was still enough room to go crazy, so I made my way to the front to have a little boogie to the funky fresh Quest & Silkie.. Re-Up was a highlight for me (tunes tooo much) They dropped You Don't Know What Love Is but it had some different vocals (but wasn't the VIP) anyone else catch that?
Skream like I said, mashed off his face, but bought the right tunes to the dance.. dropped a nice remix of BBK - Too Many Men, which had the crowd chanting along (from the sounds of it, it was his own remix).. then just slowly built up to the filth, and bought it back down at the end with Nero's Blinded By The Lights Remix.. (i'm thinking the lyrics explained alot of how he was feeling) lol. Next came Benga who absolutely teared it up, s'all about 2 Steps Back V.I.P, sent me crazy.

and @ DID: Those "Kids with stupid haircuts moshing" were probably in there for Skream & Benga too, so why you'd relate them just to Caspa is beyond me. His set smashed it imo, wasn't all just mindless/mid-range wobbles for an hour.. there was some variety in there, just probably not to your 'standard'. Out to Caspa though.. having to drive around England all night, musta been knackering for him.

Biggest tune of the night for me had to be Emalkay - When I Look At You.
Got dropped 3 times and each time I went crazy, so big up Emalkay for making that tune  Deffo tune of the year for me so far.
