Adding Wobble to all bass.......possible?
Ive been playing about with a lot wobbles in reason and im still not getting what i want. basically i just wanted to know if there's an effect patch i can create to layer over an existing bass sound i like.
say like a combinator? ive found on the Combi that it has an auto wah that if you tweak the maltroms rate in Mod A it increases the wobble but im finding its dampening the sound of the bass and its not what im looking for.
ive been trying out making wobbles with Subtractor, Malstrom and moving onto the Thor, im good with crafting sounds but not so good with adding wobble to it.
so guys if you can let me know if i can creat a single effect patch using one of these instruments to influence a bass sound i already have then that would be great!

hey, i have been going through the tutorials on youtube its just a lot of them dont seem to explain what it is i am actualy doing, i can follow instruction perfectly, but thats just as good as me downloading someone elses patch.Slug85 wrote:if you want to know how 2 get wobbling proper just search tutorials ie google youtube whatever
theres a beginners one below

The search button always comes in handy
i want it to be explained that things are doing to the sound and how that works, you know, maybe a more mechanical explaination
but still, i do want a basic effect i can create over other sounds.
and in regards to scrapping wobble and getting a new sounds, Pshhh, im not trying to be original, im just making music, having fun, enjoying it without a constant struggle to be different, i gave up that race when i was a kid.

You're heading in the right direction with the Combinator....
------------------------------------------------------------------------
Try the following:
1> Combi with filter. The filter will cause the wobble. Use Mod A on the Malstrom for LFO purposes.
2> Combi with submixer. Instead of wobbling with a filter, do it with the volume. Use Mod A on the Malstrom for LFO purposes.
3> Combi with stacked Parametric EQ in series. Use the parametric EQs to wobble that shit. Options include creating a notch, a quasi comb and a peaking filter. If you know your shit you could also make an allpass filter
4> Combi with the Scream 4 distortion device. Maybe try the digital setting on Scream for some bit reduction? Tie your LFO to the Damage control. Use Mod A on the Malstrom for LFO purposes.
5> Combi with Vocoder. Set it into EQ mode and use the Shift knob for formant shifting wobblisation! Tie to LFO reh reh reh.
6> Combi with PH-90 Phaser. Turn the Rate and Modulation knobs to 0. Tie the frequency knob to your LFO. Adjust width and split to taste. (Read the fucking manual to understand why it does what it does!)
7> Combi with Flanger. Expirement ffs.
------------------------------------------------------------------------
Save your patches to be used as insert effects. See below for details.
Wire your effects like this.

Tie your filter (or whatever) like this.

Set up your LFO like this.

That should get you started.
If you need some ideas, check out some of the Combinator patches I've made. You'd be interested specifically in the Reason Combinator Collection and the Notch Filters. ---> http://dubstepforum.com/viewtopic.php?t ... sc&start=0
