Not sure quite what you mean there, but if you're looking for a higher tempo take on things then go back and check out some early DnB tracks from around 1999 onwards. Andy C, Ant Miles & Shimon - The Ram Raiders series, Molten Beats and so on / DJ Zinc - Faster / Ed Rush & Optical - Virus Recordings (especially the Optical and Ryme Tyme track "twisted"). You might be into Klute (Song Seller), early Guy Called Gerald (2 G's) and most stuff by Jonny L too. If all else fails listen to some Twisted Individual, that'll see you right!

More recently Jazzsteppa did some quick-time workout on a track called "Two". Sheer droppage.

I'm sure there's loads more.
This is neither time or the place.

people like amit play around with 160-170 half time dnb like this...
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=MF0DMi53U5s
that tune is from 2004. amit himself, calls it drum and bass.

when people talk about "dnb dubstep" it usually refers to people from a dnb 170 background making dubstep at 140 with the standard recognizable dnb features...ie.....reeces, very big drops, multiple breakdowns, and stop-start-stop stuttering.

early dubstep, which took cues from 2step and garage, rarely had build ups, breakdowns and stuttering gaps as the central features of a tune. it was much more sub driven and much more rhythmic with gradual builds in dynamics.

Check this mix done by Vancouver's DJ Dabbler.

http://northwestjungle.com/music/mp3/%2 ... lfStep.mp3
just right click save as.

Peep the tracklisting here:

This is the first DnB mix I've enjoyed in a long time. It's a very unique style as far as DnB is concerned.

no ed i dont really mean that, what i mean is that alot of ppl seem to be making dubstep at 170bpm now so its kind of a dnb cross over and the scenes are either gonna merge or their is gonna be a new scene and name for this new style even tho it has been about for ages.

No.

It's just another form of drum and bass with artists experimenting with rhythms and styles. The same way the technoy dubstep stuff with a 4/4 beat is still dubstep.
The bpms are too far apart for them to merge under one heading.
