what amp should use to power my passive tannoy reveal 6s?

Post by alena » Sun May 24, 2009 8:00 pm

so i just invested in some tannoy reveals (http://www.sweetwater.com/store/detail/Reveal6/) so i'm waiting about a week for em to show up.

what kind of amp should i be looking at to power these studio monitors? i've heard of studio monitor amps, but i would like a little space to add other, larger, speakers if i decided to so i think i need at least four channels.

in the sweetwater descriptions it says that it recommends amp power from 50 to 100 watts at 8 ohms.

does anyone own these puppies and have success with a particular amp/set up or any good advise on amps in general?

i'm thinking i'd like to drop anywhere from $100 to $200 but i'd love all recommendations.

Thanks!!

In that price range, you're looking at samson or alesis.

You'll need separate amp channels for every passive speaker-- daisying them onto the same output is a recepie for disaster.

If you want to add monitors, a switcher like the mackie big knob is a great 'lil investment
