im becoming a bit jaded with current dubstep to be honest, and id love to hear stuff similar to the sounds of Horsepower and El-B... is there any other artists producing this kind of garagey stuff that i should know about?

Whistla's own L2S is pushing some good stuff. There's a lot of fringe tracks that are more on the breakstep and 2step tip. Just listen around.

Go dig out some Duncan Powell, DJ Ski, Qualified, Sugar Beetz, Delinquent and Wideboys to name a few.

ok, from your post it sounded like you wanted people who 'are producing' garagey beats, as opposed to the names from back in the day...here's a few more worth checking:

J da Flex
Oris Jay
Sticky
DND / Menta / Artwork
Dem 2
Nude
Roxy
Es-G (Steve Gurley)
Blaze
Zed Bias / Phuturistix / Maddslinky
