Its Heads High don Duke Etienne’s birthday! To mark this auspicious occasion, Elemental leads a chest shuddering expedition into live Dubstep country. An old-time friend of the Duke’s (they started DJing together way back in their early teens), Elemental’s (aka Adam Wilson) fresh take on the Dubstep sound has got both scene stalwarts and eclectic tastemakers singing his praises. Blending components of Acid House, Detroit Techno, ‘golden age’ Drum & Bass, vintage Dubwise and African rhythm, Elemental’s sound is super deep. Having released his wares on experimental Dubstep imprint Hot Flush among others, he’s gearing up for the release of his debut long player on his own Runtime label. A true pioneer, he was formulating laptop sets and messing with MIDI controllers way before the current wave of live Dubstep expounders. His set for Heads High promises to be his most diverse yet – the boundary crossing ethic of the night allowing his creations full space to breath. Are you ready to get sub-low?
