Metalheadz Dubstep?

Post by domewrekka » Mon Jun 15, 2009 6:41 pm

I originally got into djing and producing through Drum N Bass and have always loved that Metalheadz sound. It seems like everyone else from Tech Itch to Breakage has jumped on the Dubstep bandwagon but Goldie. I'm kind of curious as to when he may release some Dubstep on the Metalheadz label or create a Dubstep Metalheadz sister label. Everyone knows that Metalheadz has a very signature sound when it comes to DnB and I'd be very interested to see how they carry that style over to Dubstep. Any words?

 Maybe I should have done some research before starting this thread. Hopefully this is the first of many. I wouldn't want to see them shift completely to Dubstep but it would be nice to see a balance. Good one ThinKing!

The forthcoming Gatekeeper on Immerse has a real classic Metalheadz feel to it.

Goldie played 2-3 dubstep tracks at the beginning of his set @ Metalheadz vs Bassdrive WMC 09. honestly.. those were the nastiest tracks I've ever heard. like nothing I've listened before in dubstep, so dirty and broken.. I'm pretty sure those tunes were Metalheadz' work

I checked out this track, very good choone by the way, it's by the Rufige Kru which is Goldie's alter ego. Seems like there will be some Dubstep coming from the Metalheadz camp after all.

i'm right there with you.
at first i was a bit doubtful on some of dnb's heavy hitters trying to carry their name to a different genre(maybe start fresh?)

but with the likes of this, and others (ed rush - holy shit! even his tech house mixes are amazing), i'm a believer!!
