I don't doubt that there's been one of these threads before, but the search function provided me with nothing at a glance, so time for a new one.

What is the scariest film you've ever seen? Last summer I used to love getting caned and watching a horrific film, but since I saw Rec I've found nothing to rival it.

Jacob's Ladder was pretty freaky in a non conventional way

i like the psychological scary movies over blood and guts.

after a while a guy running at you in a movie with a machete isnt that scary

now government trials of a secret hallucinogen cause soldiers to kill eachother....thats scary

but let me warn you. its a fake snuff film and its seriously fucked, i have never been able to watch it from start to finish.

'IT' was always the scariest film when i was growing up but i don't think its aged that well. the inevitable remake is on the cards.

I'm a bit embarassed to admit it, but 'The Excorsism of Emily Rose' scared the shit out of me. I saw the first thirty minutes of it, high as a kite, and couldn't take it, had to go to my room and watch Simpsons to calm my nerves.

The Grudge, simply for the noise that the girl makes. It's the only film I can't watch on my own.

The scene where Sarah Michelle Gellar is on the bus with her fella and the girl pops up in the window and does it scared me so much I made a little noise haha!!

My older brothers (including Ninja Uncle Bill) had a bit of a phase of watching Nightmare on Elm Street movies when I was, at a guess, about 6 or 7. I watched a few with them and I've been hooked on horror movies ever since. Being scared is great.

When I was 16 I got all my mates to watch Nightmare On Elm Street and they all thought it was shit.... although I'm not sure how anyone expects to enjoy a scary movie when they talk all the way through it.

I am a bit of a horror freak and I have a shitload of horror films.

The best horror film I have ever seen is the original Thai version of "Shutter" (2004). Not the horseshit hollywood remake.

That film scares the shit out of me everytime I watch it.
