Liking the album a lot but I was just ripping the CD to my computer and out of curiosity I checked the spectral view of the songs:Image
8 of the 14 songs were taken from mp3s. Not cool.
Haven't checked the vinyl version yet to compare (it would look different due to DA conversion anyway) but I guess the source material was the same

of course I would have bought it anyway but I just think it's kinda strange to have stuff mastered from mp3s. Anyways, they were higher quality mp3's after all, doesn't take away from the musical qualities of the album but it seems odd. On the other hand, if you check out the new Dilla album, now that's real shit quality. Some beats are apparently taken from 96 kbps rips and you can actually hear it, up to the point where you wouldn't play these songs out.

just from the looks these are definitely from mp3:
Galaktik War
Poltergeist
Pass The Light
Repitched
8 Ball
Demon Slayah
and possibly Aston Martin and Frenemy
However, the music sounds good as it is. Might be common practice these days to master from mp3. Who knows who also does this

It is not common practice to master mp3 and it is very unprofessional.

The whole mp3 thing in my opinion is a non issue. The whole point is that it stands up against other tunes if anything sounds better than alot of whats out there and no-one would know any different without looking at a spectral view. The album is a classic, the music sounds crisp on vinyl and CD.

It's not about quality, its about musical content and hitting them frequencies (to which he doesn't disappoint in this album).

I don't understand why anyone should feel cheated in anyway because some are MP3's

No need to be anal about it

Kromestar is a BADMAN and the album is a classic. And to top it off, the next album is gonna blow people away.

End of.
