Vanguard Waveforms

Post by vibrato5 » Wed Jul 01, 2009 4:22 am

So I'm starting to program my own setting rather than just use existing presets on Vanguard. However, I feel somewhat limited by the selection of waveforms for each of the 3 oscs. Is there anyway to import other waves for generation or some sort of expansion pack?

I'm not much of a vanguard user, at least not for dubstep, but I'm pretty sure that what you see is what you get.

Pretty much standard fare against all other synth options. Maybe try a few more or work it a bit more. I have Vanguard due to it being quite cheap in $$$ but I find it's sound is a bit washed out and you need to work to fit it into a mix, and probably never touch it so yah maybe try looking at something like Massive, Surge or Circle. They all have a ton of waveforms and you can fuck em all up.

Yeah I have used Massive with much success. Unfortunately the price tag is a major limiting factor. Now I'm working more with Albino 3 considering its huge selection of sounds.

Check out Surge man.

Cheapest of the bunch I think and tons of options, analog waveforms, fm, wavetable, more shit too. At least give the biatch a try it's my favourite.

vanguard just sounds to plastic for me
but yea personal fav soft synths for me would be zebra2, z3ta+, surge, just starting to scratch the surface with circle as i just added it to the rotation
but z3ta+ is good about adding your own waveforms
