Logic Express
Can I get some of your opinions on Logic Express? I'm considering picking it up as I want something powerful to incorporate hardware and softsynths.
For the record, I cut my teeth several years ago back when I was a PC user with Fruityloops and have decent experience with Cakewalk. I would've just gotten Sonar, but it's PC-only.
Thanks in advance for your help.

It's pretty good. You can see a comparison here: http://www.apple.com/logicexpress/comparison.html
The two main limiting factors for what we need are:
- you can only have 8 busses and aux channels
- no EXS24 or Ultrabeat.
But then, it's a lot cheaper...

Its supposed to be pretty good but like Subframe said, its got limitations..
You also don't get Sculpture or Space Designer..
As a tip if you are a student or have a student mate see if they can buy Pro for you, as apple do great discounts on their software for students / colleges.. same this don't happen on their hardware tho...

That is an excellent point. I couldn't live without my Space Designer, although if you've got Altiverb you can use that. Sculpture is harder to replace.Cogent wrote:You also don't get Sculpture or Space Designer..,

Yeah I just cannot financially justify the cost of Logic Pro. Perhaps when my dubplates are going for hundreds on Ebay I can swing it better...subframe wrote:It's pretty good. You can see a comparison here: http://www.apple.com/logicexpress/comparison.html

i use logic express and despite its limitations i have no complaints. i use the full xrb expanded version of idrum instead of ultrabeat. ive also found some awesome softsyths and plugins for free online that work super with logic express. if you have the money for pro then just get it. but as for express, im making high quality audio tunes with the greatest of ease. hope this was helpful.
