i thought beastie boys released this album under a different kind of copyright... idk. it may have been a different album.
anyway, this shit would be perfect for a live setting mixed into a real dark, dancy, dubstep set. good shit. i would've preferred if it was more dancey, but i liked it anyway. good shit.

good point. The a capella are available onkaib0rg wrote:diggin it, and not to rain on your parade, but how can you license this under creative commons when the vocal samples are copyrighted?

and the website declares the stuff is there to be downloaded "personal use".
Thanks people for listening to my track and for the positive feedback!
Any points I might improve, except for the excessive distortion (that's staying)?
Sashwat 320 is flying your way.

hey man i was about to sit down and encode the file then I found this:Sashwat wrote:send over a 320 my way... sounds like an interesting idea.

I mean everyone follows these fashions blindly but does it really make a difference? Like, would listening to a 128 and a 320 blindfolded allow one to spot the difference?
That's why I decided to believe a 128kbps should be enough, and is already downloadable from soundcloud

Many thanks again for the feedback.

ya, man, a 320 make a pretty big diff over a 128 mp3. on ipod headphones, the difference may be minimal, but on any speakers that matter, like pro headphones or a sick car system w/ subs, it'll be obvious... well, at least to me. i can tell if an audio file is of poor quality in my car.mbglitchcore wrote:hey man i was about to sit down and encode the file then I found this:Sashwat wrote:send over a 320 my way... sounds like an interesting idea.

yeah, agreed... 320's make all the difference and you can tell when you are listening to the tune on a $20k system (not that I have one, but I have friends who do). Also, in a club setting, most of the drunkards might not notice, but someone who knows their stuff DEFINITELY will... Anything less than a 320 will level out -- you can literally see this leveling out in certain programs/softwares that analyze the actual wave. Even 256's will have this leveling issue... This is another fool-proof way to sort out fake 320's from real 320's. Now, as for the the comment you made about ipod headphones... the 128 mp3 is not only going to be minimal, but it will probably make no difference at all, since iPods are by no means equivalent quality to discmans/cd players. 128's will do just fine for mp3-player listening or shitty/computer speakers, which most people have these days, but as for me, I would never think about playing anything less than a 320mrsuperstereo wrote:ya, man, a 320 make a pretty big diff over a 128 mp3. on ipod headphones, the difference may be minimal, but on any speakers that matter, like pro headphones or a sick car system w/ subs, it'll be obvious... well, at least to me. i can tell if an audio file is of poor quality in my car.

Wow thanks sashwat!
You really encouraged me to investigate the matter into more depth.
Give me 5 minutes to encode the thing and I'll get back to you.
Thanks for the encouraging, friendly, to-the-point and all in all really useful feedback.
Funnily enough, I just come from the dutch dubstep forum where people are starting cyber-riots in every thread. amazing difference.

here's the 320 mp3. I listened carefully to both versions on monitors and headphones and I guess I did hear some very small difference in the "depth" of some transients. Thanks Sashwat for persuading me to keep an open mind.

Thank you Burguez and Sight!
any suggestions for things I could improve next tune?
I'm working on a freaky beat with less distortion though. It seems the whole "breakcore" sound has suddendly let go of western europe (except perhaps france it seems) and nebeody wants to hear saturated drum machines anymore. too bad, I got accustomed to that crunchy, biting sound...
